Moki Yoshikawa
Yoshikawa sensei is the current head instructor of the Tacoma Kendo & Iaido Club. He has studied kendo under Omoto sensei since he was 10-years-old and has a passion for kendo. He began teaching philosophy of kendo at TCC in the early 1990s under Omoto sensei’s tutelage.
Yoshikawa sensei became our head sensei in the mid-1990s at South Park Community Center. He loves to work with youth and has established quite a strong youth kendo program at Tacoma.
Yoshikawa sensei began seriously studying iaido in 1990. The club established an iaido practice when Konno sensei was invited to Tacoma to give an enbu (demonstration) in the mid-1990s.
Yoshikawa sensei also enjoys wrestling, weight lifting, working out and is particularly fond of cooking. He and his wife and children are very involved in the University Place community.
